Create or edit a partner

A partner is the provider sellers end up contacting, such as the tax advisor Steuerkontor Hansen under VAT registration abroad. This form holds the partner’s listing data: placement, English texts, owner, contact data, sign-in client and visibility. The partner’s page itself is edited in the partner page editor.

Open the form from Marketplace with New partner on top or on a service. Each partner row opens it with Details.

The partner details tab for "Steuerkontor Hansen", opened with Details on its row in the Marketplace overview. Under "Partner details" the "Section" select shows "Tax and accounting" and the "Service" select "VAT registration abroad", each with a red info icon that warns about moving translations. Below are "English name" (Steuerkontor Hansen), the "Owner" select with Miriam Schulte and her e-mail address, the "Short description", "Website" with the firm's web address, "Contact email", "Contact phone" and the "OIDC client" select set to "Steuerkontor Hansen portal". The Visibility switch is on, and a note points to the page content editor. Partner details hold the listing data. The Owner field decides which partner user may edit this partner.

Adding a partner from a service, with section and service filled in

comrce Hub derives the partner’s key from the English name, for example steuerkontor_hansen. The key is unique within its service. A new partner has no page content yet. Until the page is filled, sellers who open it see only the listing data.

As a Super Admin, Admin or Marketplace Editor, you can assign an owner to any partner. The owner can be any user with the Marketplace Partner role. Partner users cannot assign or change owners. The Owner select shows each user’s name and email. You can search it and clear it.

If the owner loses the Marketplace Partner role, comrce Hub clears their ownership. When an owner saves changes themselves, every user with the Marketplace Editor role gets an email about it.

Purpose
A partner company adding its own listing

A partner user who opens this form sees no owner field. English name and short description share one row. Section and service offer only visible sections and services. Whatever they create belongs to them.

Where
Next to Contact phone.
What
A searchable select of confidential sign-in clients, shown as display name and client ID. Optional and clearable. You manage the clients under API keys.
Why
Connects the partner’s own app. After installing the partner, a seller can sign in to that app with their comrce Hub account.
Where
Next to the short description. Partner users do not see it.
What
One user with the Marketplace Partner role, or none. If the current owner no longer has that role, the select still shows them until you change it.
Why
Lets an external partner maintain their own listing without access to anything else.
Where
The first row of the form. Both required.
What
  • The section list shows all sections for staff with full Marketplace access. Partner users see only sections with a visible service.
  • The service list shows the services of the chosen section. It stays disabled until a section is chosen. Changing the section clears a service that is not in it.
  • Moving: an existing partner shows a red info icon next to the fields. Its warning reads: "Changing this selection changes the translation path for the partner and overwrites the existing marketplace translations for its page content." Saving a new placement moves the partner’s texts in every language to the new path. Anything already there is replaced.
Why
The placement decides where sellers find the partner.
Where
The switch below the contact fields.
What
On by default. Off hides the partner from sellers, and the overview shows a crossed-out eye.
Why
Prepare a partner, or take it offline without deleting its page.
Where
The two rows below the identity fields.
What
All three appear on the partner’s page for sellers. Only the contact email is required. When the partner has an OIDC client, sellers see the website link only after they installed the partner. Visitors without an account then do not see it at all. The limits are in Required fields.
Why
Sellers contact partners directly. comrce does not relay messages.
Where
Next to the owner, or next to the name for partner users.
What
Required, no HTML. Shown under the partner’s name in the Marketplace list. The limit is in Required fields.
Why
One line that tells a seller why to open this partner.
Where
Below the placement.
What
Required, no HTML. Shown as the partner’s name. On a new partner it also produces the key.
Why
The name sellers recognise and search for.

TextsEnglish only. Other languages come from the translations CSV.
OwnershipOne owner per partner. Cleared when the owner loses the partner role.
EmailsChanges saved by an owner notify everyone with the Marketplace Editor role.

Section titled “Where do I write the partner’s about text and upload its logo?”

Not in this form. Save the partner, then select Content on its row in the Marketplace overview. The partner page editor holds the logo, about text, filters, info rows and cards.

The service list in the partner form stays disabled until you choose a section. It only offers the services of that section. Choose the section first. If you started from a service panel, both are already filled in.

Can I write the partner’s name in German?

Section titled “Can I write the partner’s name in German?”

No. The form takes the English name only. Other languages come from the Marketplace translations CSV, with a name key per partner. Missing translations fall back to English for sellers.

Only users with the Marketplace Partner role. Invite them in Hub Team first. The list is sorted by first name and shows each user’s name and email. You can type to search it.

What happens when I take the partner role away from an owner?

Section titled “What happens when I take the partner role away from an owner?”

comrce Hub clears that user’s ownership of every partner. The partners stay listed. Only comrce staff can maintain them until you assign a new owner in the partner form.

Can a partner user hand their partner over to someone else?

Section titled “Can a partner user hand their partner over to someone else?”

No. Partner users do not see the owner field, so they cannot change the owner. A user with the Marketplace Editor, Admin or Super Admin role assigns the new owner.

Why does a seller not see the partner’s website?

Section titled “Why does a seller not see the partner’s website?”

With an OIDC client linked, the website link appears only after the seller installed the partner. Visitors without an account do not see it. Without a sign-in client, every seller and visitor sees the website. Also check that the website field is filled in.

It links the partner to a sign-in client registered under API keys. Sellers who install the partner can then sign in to its app with their comrce Hub account. Leave it empty for partners that offer a service rather than an app.

SymptomWhat to check
