For: comrce staff who run the MarketplaceRequires: The Admin, Super Admin or Marketplace Editor roleScreenshots show sample data

A section is the first thing sellers scan in the Marketplace, such as Tax and accounting. It groups services. Enter a title and description in English, add an icon and choose whether sellers see it. A new section stays off the Marketplace until it has a service sellers can see. So you can prepare it calmly.

Open the form from Marketplace with New section, or with Settings on a section card.

  • Create a section. Give it a title and description in English. Create a section.
  • Change a section’s texts. English readers see the new texts at once. Other languages keep their translations. Edit a section.
  • Give the section an icon. Upload a PNG or JPEG and crop it to a square. Icon card.
  • Hide or show the section. One switch hides the section and everything in it from sellers. Visibility · Managing Marketplace content.

  1. Open Marketplace and select New section. The tab Create section opens.
  2. Enter the English title, for example Marketing and content. Enter the English description: one or two sentences about what sellers find here.
  3. Optional: add an icon in the icon card. On a new section, comrce Hub uploads the icon right after it creates the section.
  4. Leave the visibility switch on if sellers may see the section once it has services. Switch it off to prepare the section in private.
  5. Select Save section. The message "Section saved." appears, and the tab closes. The section is added at the end of the overview.

comrce Hub derives the section’s key from the title in English, for example marketing_and_content. It adds a number if the key exists. The key never changes, even when you rename the section. It identifies the section’s texts in the Marketplace translations.

Both text fields are required. If one is empty, the field turns red and a message appears under it.

Purpose
Editing an existing section

Saving updates the English texts at once. German and other translations stay as they were. Review them in the Marketplace translations when the meaning changed. Icon changes on an existing section save the moment you confirm them. Icon card explains the details.

Where
Top of the form, titled Icon name. The title is left over from an earlier text field. The card is an image upload.
What

Upload image, or Change image when an icon exists, opens a cropper with a square frame. Choose a file or paste an http or https image address under Paste image URL. Then drag the image into place and select Save.

  • Accepted images: PNG or JPEG of at most 8 MB, 8,192 pixels per side and 16 megapixels. The file name ending must match the format (.png, .jpg or .jpeg).
  • Refused images: WebP, GIF, SVG and animated images. The dialog stays open and shows the reason in red. Troubleshooting lists the messages.
  • Stored format: the icon keeps its format, PNG or JPEG. comrce Hub removes the file’s hidden metadata.
  • Delete: Delete removes the icon after a confirmation.
  • When it saves: on an existing section, upload and delete save immediately. Reset does not undo them.
Why
The icon identifies the section on the sellers’ Marketplace page.
The dialog "Upload image", opened from the icon card of the section "Tax and accounting" after a PNG file was chosen. The square crop area shows a white document icon on a transparent background; dragging moves the image inside the square. Below is the "Zoom" slider at its lowest setting, which enlarges the image up to three times. The footer has "Change image" to pick another file, "Cancel", and the highlighted "Save", which uploads the cropped icon at once, as a PNG because the chosen file is a PNG.The dialog "Upload image", opened from the icon card of the section "Tax and accounting" after a PNG file was chosen. Can I write the section title in German here?

Section titled “Can I write the section title in German here?”

No. This form only edits the title and description in English. Other languages come from the Marketplace translations CSV under MarketplaceTranslations. Each language has its own column there for the same key.

Why is my new section not on the sellers’ Marketplace?

Section titled “Why is my new section not on the sellers’ Marketplace?”

Sellers see a section only when it is visible and contains a visible service. That service needs a visible partner or the coming-soon mark. Add a service and a partner, or mark the service as coming soon.

Does renaming a section change its translations?

Section titled “Does renaming a section change its translations?”

Renaming changes only the English text. The key stays the same, so the translations stay attached to the section. They still describe the old wording, though. Update them in the Marketplace translations CSV if the meaning changed.

Which image formats can I upload as a section icon?

Section titled “Which image formats can I upload as a section icon?”

PNG and JPEG images up to 8 MB, 8,192 pixels on each side and 16 megapixels. They can come from a file or an http or https address.

WebP, GIF, SVG and animated images are refused. So is a file whose name ending does not match its format. A PNG with a transparent background suits the coloured tile best, because JPEG has no transparency.

Why did my icon change although I closed the tab without saving?

Section titled “Why did my icon change although I closed the tab without saving?”

On an existing section, the icon card saves an upload or delete the moment you confirm it. It does not wait for Save section, and Reset does not undo it. On a new section, the icon uploads only after the section is created.

Yes. Select Delete in the icon card at the top of the section form and confirm. The icon is gone at once, without saving. The section and its services stay as they are.

What happens when I switch visibility off on a section that has partners?

Section titled “What happens when I switch visibility off on a section that has partners?”

After you save, sellers no longer see the section, its services or its partners. Partner users can no longer add partners in it. Nothing is deleted. Switch visibility on again to bring everything back.

Every seller who loads the Marketplace sees the new English text and visibility at once. Sellers using German see a text change only where the German translation is missing. Those texts fall back to English.
