Why is an article listed here but not on the sellers’ News page?

Section titled “Why is an article listed here but not on the sellers’ News page?”

The list shows every active article. Sellers see it only when its publish date has come. The text in their language, or the English text, must also be published. Check the publish date and the status badges of each language.

Choose German in the language select at the top of the News page. The cards, the preview and the category names switch to German. Each card then shows the status of the German text.

Why does a card show the badge Draft although sellers can read the article?

Section titled “Why does a card show the badge Draft although sellers can read the article?”

The badge shows the status of the language selected at the top. If German is a draft but English is published, German sellers read the English text. Publish the German text to show it to them.

Does the search find words in German texts when the console is in English?

Section titled “Does the search find words in German texts when the console is in English?”

Yes. The search looks at the title and body of every language of an article, including drafts, and ignores case. The language select only decides which language the cards show.

Why does the category filter offer hidden categories?

Section titled “Why does the category filter offer hidden categories?”

Staff with access to News can file articles under hidden categories too, so the list offers all of them. Sellers never see hidden categories in their own News filter.

What is the difference between Archive and delete?

Section titled “What is the difference between Archive and delete?”

Archive moves the article to the archive and hides it from sellers. It keeps everything for a later restore or copy. Delete removes the article for good, with all its translations, its categories and sellers’ favourites.

Why did Restore not bring the article back immediately?

Section titled “Why did Restore not bring the article back immediately?”

Restore opens the article’s edit tab with today’s publish date. The article becomes active only when you save there. Closing the tab without saving leaves it in the archive.

Can sellers still see an archived article?

Section titled “Can sellers still see an archived article?”

Sellers who marked the article as a favourite still find it in their favourites, because that view includes archived articles. Everyone else no longer sees it in the News.
